On July 30th, AKB48’s Takahashi Minami (21) and Yokoyama Yui (19) made a surprise appearance at the 1 year anniversary event for ‘AKB48 Official Shop Harajuku‘.
The crowd of 50 fans who visited at the shop exclaimed “Wow!” and “Seriously?!” as Takahashi and Yokoyama made their way into the store. The two held a talk session with their fans for about 15 minutes.
Regarding, swimmer Hagino Kosuke (17), who took the bronze medal in the men’s 400m individual medley, Takahashi commented, “Hagino-san, whose oshimen is Yuko-chan, is younger than me… he’s amazing. I can feel that there are many people in my generation taking part in it. Also, soccer is exciting! There was a time when I thought… Spain! I am also cheering for Nadeshiko Japan.”
Meanwhile, Yokoyama commented on the group’s dream concert at Tokyo Dome (August 24th to the 26th). “It’s Tokyo Dome, so I want to play baseball. I want to hit a homerun.” When Takahashi suggested, “How about starting the concert when Yui hits a homerun?“, Yokoyama gave up on her idea saying, “That sounds good. But you can’t easily hit a homerun in the first place… Maybe we should call it quits.”
To celebrate it’s 1 year anniversary, ‘AKB48 Official Shop Harajuku’ will carry t-shirts, mug cups, and other goods designed by Takahashi for a limited quantities.
