This year’s “FNS 27-Hour TV” aired from July 21st 6:30pm to July 22nd 8:54pm (JST). Veteran host Tamori hosted the program and presented an exciting live TV marathon alongside the regulars of TV show “Waratte Iitomo!”
HKT48’s Sashihara Rino is a regular on “Waratte Iitomo!” and was originally slated to perform onstage with fellow members of AKB48 before her sudden transfer to HKT48 in June. Due to the transfer, the performance was modified to have only Sashihara performing for the audience. The live event title was also changed to “A Regrettable Live Event with Just Sashihara”.
However, on the day of the performance and in the midst of Sashihara’s solo rendition of AKB48’s “Aitakatta!”, Maeda Atsuko, Takahashi Minami, Watanabe Mayu and other AKB48 members rushed on stage in a surprise appearance. It was a heartwarming moment as they sang “Aitakatta, Sashiko~“.
The ladies continued the performance with a medley of “Heavy Rotation“, “Everyday Kachuusha“, “Manatsu no Sounds Good!” and “Aitakatta!” with Sashihara in the center position. In the last scene, Shofukutei Tsurube, dressed up as “Tsurubekhamen”, barged in, took center position and brought the event to a lively climax.
Sashihara commented excitedly, “I was really surprised. I’m really happy that everybody could join me on stage. In all honesty, I was rather uneasy about performing solo and in such a good time slot too! (around 6pm). I’m really glad they came.”
