AKB48 has been made the image character for Hewlett-Packard’s latest Japanese commercials yet again, but this time featuring a new line-up of girls!
The group’s last endorsement with HP starred AKB48 members Maeda Atsuko, Shinoda Mariko, and Kojima Haruna, among others, but their new CMs will feature six new girls. AKB48’s Watanabe Mayu, Shimazaki Haruka, and SKE48 (and AKB48) member Matsui Jurina will be featured in the “Ultrabook” version of the commercial, while Nagao Mariya, Oba Mina, and Iriyama Anna will star in the “Standard Note Laptop” version, appealing to consumers with the way they enjoy themselves while using HP computers.
While filming for the commercial, state-of-the-art equipment was used to project home-like images onto the set’s three walls. “The technology for filming is getting more and more advanced, isn’t it?” commented Watanabe with a smile about her latest endorsement. “I’ve never done a shoot like it so it was difficult, but I feel like I’ve achieved something!”
The commercial will be set to a short clip of their upcoming song “Show fight!“, sung by the unit Future Girls (consisting of the girls who achieved 49th ~ 64th place on the “AKB48 4th Senbatsu General Election“). The commercials begin airing on July 14th.
