On July 15th, AKB48 sub-unit French Kiss held a release event for their new single, “Romance Privacy“, at Yokohama Blitz.
As this day also marked Kashiwagi Yuki’s 21st birthday, the members each gave her a surprise present. Takajo Aki gifted the birthday girl with a handmade strawberry tart and Kuramochi Asuka presented her with a device to keep a whole watermelon cold.
“This year’s birthday is the happiest birthday of my life!” Kashiwagi exclaimed. She then commented on her upcoming solo debut with, “I want to study music and songs now that I’m 21. I want to polish myself!”
Kashiwagi, who says she always depends on her members, seemed a little concerned, “When I go solo, I won’t have anybody to depend on. What should I do?” She also shared her goals saying, “Mayuyu sings idol-like songs, so I hope to sing different types of songs. I want to be able to sing ballads.”
After having a bite of Takajo’s cake, Kashiwagi expressed, “It’s delicious! It tastes like the ones they sell in stores! You can run a pastry shop.” In response, Takajo explained that this was her first time making a strawberry tart, “Yukirin said that she likes tarts, so I looked it up and made it myself. I’m relieved that she said it was good.”
French Kiss held 3 performances throughout the day with about 4,500 people who pre-ordered “Romance Privacy”. Aside the title track, they sang a total of 5 songs including “Saisho no Mail” and “Kakkowarui I love you!“.
