On June 10th, a completion event for
SMAP member
Katori Shingo’s starring movie “
LOVE Masao-kun ga Iku!” (to hit theaters on the 23rd) was held.
AKB48’s
Maeda Atsuko also attended this event as a surprise guest and greeted the audience with, “
Hi, I am Maeda Atsuko and I sang the theme song for this movie.” The theme song, “
Kimi wa Boku da”, is Maeda’s first solo single to be chosen as a theme song for a movie and regarding this feat, Maeda expressed that “
it is an honor to be given this opportunity.”
Although Maeda did not introduce herself as an AKB48 member at this event, Katori stated, “
I heard you will be graduating from AKB soon. Congratulations.” Maeda then responded, “
Thank you,” and smiled. Maeda, who is expected to continue her activities through acting after her upcoming graduation, was asked by the press, “
Among the actors/actresses at this event, who do you want to co-star with?” After giving it some thought, Maeda responded with, “
Katori-san. It would be great if I could co-star with him,” and gave the audience something to look forward to.
- “LOVE Masao-kun ga Iku!” is based on the true story of a Labrador Retriever named ‘Masao’ and talento Matsumoto Hideki, who made an appearance on a popular segment of TV Tokyo’s program, “Pet Daishugou! Pochi Tama“.
The story will revolve around Matsumoto (played by Katori), an
unsuccessful comedian who is able to grow as a person after meeting
Masao. Alongside Katori, the movie will star Hirosue Ryoko, Mitsuishi Ken, Narumi Riko, and Terajima Susumu.
