AKB48’s Senbatsu members to make an appearance on the next SMAP x SMAP

 

It has been announced that the senbatsu members from AKB48’s 4th Senbatsu General Election will collaborate with SMAP on the June 11th episode of ‘SMAP x SMAP‘.
The group recorded the episode on June 7th, the day after the General Election. Senbatsu members appeared in a cooking battle segment of SMAP ‘Bistoro SMAP‘.
Nakai Masahiro asked their feeling about the general election, and Oshima Yuko who was on the top of the preliminary results and held the top position at the finals, responded “There was a saying ’second place of the preliminary results would be reversal on top’, so I was like ‘wait!’…..but I broke the jinx!!”
Kashiwagi Yuki, who dropped down from her 2nd place during the preliminary results, to third place, stated “After the election, I cried. However, I put my feelings behind me and move on quick.”
The girls asked SMAP for advice on how to move forward. They also performed a live SMAP x AKB stage and a comedy segment together. Maeda Atsuko also made an appearance on the show.
The episode will air on June 11th at 10:00pm.
