AKB48 member Yokoyama Yui will have her first TV program, ‘Yokoyama Yui ga Hannari Meguru Kyoto – Bi no Neiro‘, on Kansai TV.
Yokoyama commented, “I’m a little uneasy to see what will happen, but I’m excited to study a lot about the history of Kyoto, my hometown. I hope to know Kyoto more in detail.”
‘Kyoto – Bi no Neiro’ will focus on the many sounds of Kyoto such as weaving, chants, shamisen (Japanese three-stringed guitar), and festivals. Yokoyama will introduce the culture, entertainment, art, and customs through those sounds, discovering the beauty of Kyoto.
Yokoyama was born in Kyoto on December 8, 1992. She’s also a member of AKB48 sub-unit Not yet with Oshima Yuko, Sashihara Rino, and Kitahara Rie. Yokoyama was chosen as number 15 in AKB48’s “4th General Elections” which was held earlier this month.
‘Yokoyama Yui ga Hannari Meguru Kyoto – Bi no Neiro’ will broadcast every 3rd Wednesday of the month starting July 18th. It’s also scheduled to air on BS Fuji once a month starting August 18th.
