SKE48 performs their new single “Kiss Datte Hidarikiki” for the first time
On August 12, idol group SKE48 held a handshake event for their 9th single, “Aishiteraburu!“, at Pacifico Yokohama.
During this event, the girls performed their new single, “Kiss Datte Hidarikiki” (September 19th release), for the very first time. Towards the end of the song, members Matsui Jurina and Matsui Rena showed a surprise “kiss performance” which excited the fans. Rena turned bright red as she said, “We were unexpectedly close… I’m embarrassed.”
The senbatsu members for “Kiss Datte Hidarikiki” were also announced at this event. They include Oya Masana, Kizaki Yuria, Suda Akari, Ogiso Shiori, Nakanishi Yuka, Matsui Jurina, Matsui Rena, Yagami Kumi, Takayanagi Akane, Hata Sawako, Furukawa Airi, Mukaida Manatsu, Yakata Miki, Kimoto Kanon, Suga Nanako, and Matsumura Kaori.
“It’s a song with a different atmosphere than our usual songs. I want people to watch our performance,” Jurina stated and continued, “It was the first time Rena looked directly at me. Her kissing face was cute.”
As SKE48’s first album will be released simultaneously with their new single, the girls are aiming to top both the Oricon single and album charts. Rena expressed, “It would make me happy if we could do it. Exceed AKB48? I think AKB will continue to do greater things, so we want to do things that will surprise our fans as much as possible.”
SKE48 performed a total of 6 songs including “Gomen ne, SUMMER” and “Aozora Kataomoi” for 12,500 fans. Before wrapping up the event, the group also announced that they would be holding their 6th generation auditions.
