Shimazaki Haruka & AKB48 members attend the premiere screening event for ‘Shiritsu Bakaleya Koukou’
On October 8th, the super premiere screening of the movie version of “Shiritsu Bakaleya Koukou” opened at UDX THEATER in Akihabara. The winner of the Janken tournament, Shimazaki Haruka, along with fellow AKB48 members Oba Mina, Nagao Mariya, Kobayashi Marina, Nakamura Mariko, Kato Rena, Takeuchi Miyu, Kawaei Rina, and Takahashi Juri, and Ichikawa Miori appeared at the premiere dressed in cosplay. In addition, 150 fans packed the limited theater space and Mitsumune Kaoru, who had planned to appear on stage was absent at the event due to her poor physical condition.
The AKB48 members appeared on stage dressed in outfits suited for the cosplay café in the movie. The members dressed as witches, pumpkins, angels, and other outfits suited to their personalities, Shimazaki appeared on stage dressed as a maid and expressed her disappointment with, “I actually wanted to cosplay as a kappa (water demon), but the costume was taken by the baka-boys (Makada High School Boys)…” Even so, Shimazaki, who was dressed in a cute, pink outfit, asked fans, “I often see this type of outfit in Akihabara, but this is my first time wearing one. Even thought I am saying this myself, I think it suits me, doesn’t it?” She was met with loud cheers from fans.
Additionally, she was praised for her success at the “AKB48 29th Single Selection Janken Tournament,” and expressed her shyness, which caused laughter, with, “Because this is the first movie I have starred in, I attended the tournament dressed in the Cattleya uniform, to which I attribute many strong memories to, and was able to win the tournament. I hope this luck makes the movie a big hit.”
Afterwards, Ichikawa, who was dressed as an angel, and Oba, who evoked images of Halloween with her pumpkin costume, began cross talks about their individual concepts. At the end, Shimazaki strongly appealed to the audience and was met with loud applause when she stated, “For those who have watched the drama, the movie will add another level of entertainment through revealing more depth. For first time viewers, there are scenes from the drama throughout the movie, so it will be easy to understand. Thus, I want many people to watch the movie.”
The movie is based off of the popular TV school drama which co-stars members of both Johnny’s Jr. and AKB48. It depicts the friendships, troubles, and romantic relationships that develop after the delinquent all-boys school Makada High school and the exclusive top-ranked all-girls school Cattleya High School are combined into “Bakaleya High School.”
The movie will begin airing in theaters across Japan on October 13th.
